Associate Prof Karen Ginn
PhD MHPEd GDManipTher

Associate Professor Ginn teaches functional, applied anatomy to various health professional groups and is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in part time private practice. She is involved in research related to the assessment and treatment of shoulder dysfunction which includes: clinical trials to investigate the efficacy of conservative and surgical treatment for shoulder dysfunction; electromyographic (EMG) studies investigating shoulder muscle activation and coordination patterns in normal subjects and patients with shoulder dysfunction; EMG studies evaluating shoulder exercises; studies evaluating the validity and reliability of components of the physical examination of the shoulder. She has over 30 publications in such journals as Journal of Orthopaedic Research, Medicine and Science in Sport and Exercise, Physical Therapy, Journal of Science and Medicine is Sport, Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine and Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology
